Ajmer

Historically known as Ajaymeru or Ajmere, this city was founded by King Ajaypal Chauhan in 7th Century AD and later ruled by a number of Kings of history, which makes the city one of the oldest places of India where you can find Mughal and Hindu architecture together. 
The city of Ajmer is in the centre of the state of Rajasthan and is the gateway to Pushkar which is one of the most important Hindu pilgrimages.Surrounded by the Aravali Range, Ajmer brings a perfect blend of community, religion, culture and traditions that coexist and flourish in harmony. Ajmer is a major pilgrimage centre for both Muslims and Hindus. The city is surrounded by rugged mountains and lakes .In its downtown lies the most famous Dargah visited by both Hindu and Muslims and various other religions of India, the Ajmer Sharif Dargah. The Golden Jain Temple that holds great significance for the Jain Religion is nested in Ajmer as well.
